Bighorn National Forest/Big Horn Mountains: The Bighorn National Forest is 80 miles long and 30 miles wide, covers 1,115,073 acres, and has elevations that range from 5,500 to 13,175 feet on Cloud Peak. It has 32 campgrounds, 14 picnic areas, 2 visitor centers, over 1,500 miles of trails, 3 scenic byways, and 2 recreation lakes. Covered in Lodge pole Pine trees. BEAR LODGE RESORT: A full service, all-season alpine resort on top of the Big Horn Mountains.  They provide a wide range of services and recreational opportunities for individual, groups and families. Bighorn Basin Geoscience Center: Contact Cliff Manuel at (307) 765-2259 or visit their website for this upcoming new area attraction currently temporarily housed in downtown Greybull.  Some great geological and paleontological displays!

 

DEVIL’S KITCHEN: Five miles east of Greybull.  The colorful eerie rock formations exposed in Devil’s Kitchen are part of the Cloverly Formation, a 125 to 11-million year-old sequences of colorful sediments containing important dinosaur remains. A walking or hiking tour will reveal fascinating and picturesque “Badland” spires and weathered hills. Contact Chamber of Commerce for more information. You will need a local map/information. FLORAL DISPLAY: At the west end of Greybull Avenue in downtown Greybull, one block beyond the stop light juncture where Highways 14, 16, and 20 combine to continue towards Yellowstone Park’s east entrance, is a 35-foot floral tribute.  Beautiful in the summer and smells great too!  Walk down in the evening and take a look. Photo opportunity.

 

GREYBULL MUSEUM: Pioneer/local/native American/geological history with many cultural artifacts. Fossil collections from the Famous Dinosaur dig in the area. Downtown Greybull. Free Admission. Open year round, call for winter hours. (307) 765-2444.

 

GREYBULL City Park: South Second Street and 3rd Avenue South, Greybull.  We have an exceptional family friendly City Park for a small town. We are proud to tell you we have a wonderful developed children’s play area, skate/skateboard area, ¼ mile walking track and volleyball court, restrooms, grills/tables, all for your convenience.  Open dawn to dusk daily and right next to the new Walking/bicycle path that extends the length of town on the dike. Bicycle or walk (care, caution and courtesy of others, please) the east side of Greybull along the Big Horn River. One caution, the animals you may see along the walkway: deer, raccoons, eagles, Canadian geese, ducks, ARE wildlife.  

 

Free bus/RV Parking:  Free day parking one block from the main streets ((both Highway 16 and Highway 14)). This free day use parking lot is located at the corner of 1st Avenue South and South Fifth Street, across from Town Hall. From Highway 14 you turn left one block before the marked junction of Highways 14, 16, 20.  On Highway 16-20, you turn right one block before the marked junction of Highways 14, 16, 20. It is one block from either highway to the parking area located directly across South 5th Street from Town Hall.

 

SMOKEHOUSE SALOON: A”Saloon of the Old West”.  Featuring an 1800’s cherry wood bar.  Includes lounge and spirits.  Pool Tables, Darts, Music and Entertainment.  Famous “Smokers” - Smokehouse ½ lb. MIDWAY GOLF CLUB: 5 miles south of Greybull just off Highway 16, 20 on Golf Course Road; this great nine-hole course is just over 30 years old. Member owned, it is open to the public. The clubhouse has a full service lounge and friendly staff. Tee times are not required. Reasonable rates. Midway also offers a driving range, practice green, motorized carts, and rental clubs. The season runs from mid-March to early November. You are invited to see why the members are so proud of Midway Golf Club. Midway is a U.S.G.A. member course, enforces nonsteel spike policy. WAYFARING TRAVELER RANCH: A working Llama ranch 20 minutes west of Greybull that offers a secluded Guest House, Guided Llama treks, Llama rentals, “Take a Llama to Lunch” package, and organic produce. RED GULCH NATIONAL BACK COUNTRY BYWAY: 32- mile route through a mostly untrammeled section of the Big Horn Basin. Sheepherder rock cairns from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Rock formations in the area paint a colorful and varied picture. Dinosaur tracks can be seen at the Red Gulch Dinosaur Track site. Scenic views offer photo opportunities. SHELL FALLS INTERPRETIVE SITE: located about 30 miles east of Greybull in the Bighorn National Forest in Shell Canyon, Shell Creek falls over three-billion-year-old granite at some 3,600 gallons per second to make a spectacular waterfall.
