Bighorn National Forest/BIGHORN MOUNTAINS:
The Bighorn National Forest is 80 miles long and 30 miles wide, covers 1,115,073
acres, and has elevations that range from 5,500 to 13,175 feet on Cloud Peak.
It has 32 campgrounds, 14 picnic areas, 2 visitor centers, over 1,500 miles of
trails, 3 scenic byways, and 2 recreation lakes. Covered in Lodge pole Pine
trees. Clear blue skies make this a truly magnificent scenic area. Miles of

BEAR LODGE RESORT: A full service, all-season

GREYBULL MUSEUM: Pioneer history with
many cultural artifacts. Fossil collections from the Famous Dinosaur dig in the

RV Parking: Free day parking one
block from main street, both Highway 16 and Highway 14. This free day use
parking lot is located at the corner of 1st Avenue South and South
Fifth Street, across from Town Hall. From Highway 14 you turn left one block
before the marked junction of Highways 14, 16, 20. On Highway 16, you turn right one block
before the marked junction of Highways 14, 16, 20. It is one block to the
parking area located directly across South 5th Street from Town Hall.
MUSEUM OF FLIGHT AND
AERIAL FIREFIGHTING:
contains
some of the last remaining examples of World War II aircraft including the
PB4Y-2. and other fire fighting aircraft
of past decades. Located just north of Greybull at the airport.

RED GULCH NATIONAL BACK COUNTRY BYWAY: 32- mile route through a
mostly untrammeled section of the Big Horn Basin. Sheepherder rock cairns from
the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Rock formations in the area paint a colorful
and varied picture.
Dinosaur tracks can be seen at the Red
Gulch Dinosaur Track site. Scenic views offer photo opportunities. Area
wildlife visible along the route.

SHELL FALLS
INTERPRETIVE SITE:
located
about 30 miles east of Greybull in the Bighorn
National Forest in Shell Canyon, is Shell Falls. Shell Creek falls over
three-billion-year-old granite at some 3,600 gallons per second to make a
spectacular waterfall. Scenic views of the Bighorn Mountains are world-class.
Walking trails allow for a breathtaking view of falls and the canyon area.

Byway
SMOKEHOUSE SALOON: A Saloon of the Old West. Featuring 1800’s
cherry wood back bar. Includes a lounge, and spirits. Pool Tables, Darts, Music and Entertainment.
Try one of their Famous “Smokers” - Smokehouse ½ lb. Hamburger, with grilled

DEVIL’S KITCHEN: Five miles east of Greybull.
The colorful eerie rock formations exposed in
Devil’s Kitchen are part of the Cloverly Formation, a 125 to 11-million
year-old sequences of colorful sediments containing important dinosaur remains.
A walking or hiking tour will reveal fascinating and picturesque “Badland”

FLORAL DISPLAY: At the west end of Greybull Avenue in downtown Greybull, one block beyond the
stop light juncture where Highways 14, 16, and 20 combine to continue towards
Yellowstone Park’s east entrance, is a 35-foot floral tribute. Beautiful in the summer and smells great too! Walk down in the evening and take a look.

MEDICINE LODGE
STATE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE: about 42 miles from
Greybull, one of the country’s major archaeological sites. Petroglyphs and pictographs
remain on the cliff walls. Visitor center with available camping, fishing and
stargazing provides campers a chance to stay and enjoy nature. Part of a
Wyoming Game and Fish wildlife habitat since 1972. Originally one of the

MIDWAY GOLF
CLUB: 5
miles south of Greybull off Highway
16 on Golf Course Road, this great nine-hole course is just over 30 years old.
Member owned, it is open to the public. There is
a clubhouse with a full service lounge and friendly staff.
Tee times are not required. Reasonable rates. Midway also offers a driving
range, practice green, motorized carts, and rental clubs. The season runs from
mid-March to early November. You are invited to see why the members are so
proud of Midway Golf Club. Midway is a U.S.G.A. member course, enforces nonsteel spike

MEDICINE WHEEL, SACRED TREASURE, IN
THE BIG HORN MOUNTAINS: located on Hwy 14A in the Big Horn Mountains,
is the Medicine Wheel, a large stone wheel measuring approximately 80 feet in diameter.
Designated a National Historical Landmark, it was probably constructed between
1200 and 1700 A.D. It is considered a
sacred site to many Native Americans. At an altitude of 9,642 feet above sea
level, it requires a 1½ mile walk from the parking area except for handicapped
